Jobs in this field are always available, however they differ depending on your degree. Those with a Master's degree have many more opportunities then those with a Bachelor's degree. However, this doesn't mean that one degree is less valuable than the other, it just means that one degree gets you better job experiences and opportunities.
SLPA's: Limited to schools mostly (with Medicare compliance), Private Practices, and may do Treatments in hospitals. In some cases may make a case to work in nursing homes or workshops.
SLP's: Universities, Schools, Adult Day Care, Hospital, Home Health Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation Centers, Independent Practices.
On average a Speech Pathology Assistant makes about $43,000- $54,500 annually. On average a Speech Pathologist makes about $66,000- $72,000 annually.
It is important to keep in mind that these numbers can vary depending on your years of experience and what career path you choose to follow.
