Letters of Recommendation are a very important part of the Grad school application process. It is important to build connections with your professors and make yourself known from an early point in college. It is more likely that if your professors know you because of office hours, or because you ask many questions, you'll get a great letter of rec because they'll know you beyond the classroom. these relationships are important because you'll gain valuable information from them, and they'll learn new things from you. Professors have plenty of advice to give, you just have to ask for it and they'll gladly share their experiences with you. Make sure you choose professors wisely. This isn't to say that you can't pick anyone you like, but it's better to pick those in your major rather than say your PES instructor or REL 230 professor. It is important that your letters reflect who you are as an individual and what you have done throughout college. I mean sure grades and GPA are important but many students get good grades, however, not many do all the extracurricular activities that you may have and they don't all have the experience you have.
